OSCAR-XO2 Wastewater Treatment System
Class I certified treatment by Lowridge Onsite Technologies — NSF/ANSI 40 rated, locally manufactured in Lake Stevens, WA.
Advanced On-Site Treatment, Made in Washington
The OSCAR-XO2 is a proprietary wastewater treatment system designed and manufactured by Lowridge Onsite Technologies in Lake Stevens, WA. It meets the NSF/ANSI 40 Class I standard — one of the highest performance benchmarks for residential on-site treatment systems.
The system combines a septic chamber, aeration zone, sand filter bed, and discharge tank into a continuous treatment process. The sand media on top naturally supports grass growth — making it an aesthetically clean solution for residential properties.
Healthy grass growing on the OSCAR-XO2 sand media bed — a sign of a well-functioning system.
How the OSCAR-XO2 Works
Four integrated treatment zones work together to process household wastewater to a Class I standard.
Septic Chamber
Incoming wastewater enters the septic chamber. Large solids settle and begin anaerobic breakdown. Contents appear dark brown with earthy odors — a sign of healthy operation.
Aeration Chamber
Wastewater is aerated using a recirculating pump and disc filter through the headworks. Oxygen-rich conditions promote aerobic microbial digestion of organic matter. Liquid may appear cloudy with a mild earthy smell.
Discharge Tank
Final treated effluent is collected in the discharge tank. Liquid should appear clear with a musty smell. Tank is pumped when 6 inches of settled bio-solids have accumulated.
Sand Filter Bed
Final treated effluent is collected in the discharge tank. Liquid should appear clear with a musty smell. Tank is pumped when 6 inches of settled bio-solids have accumulated.

OSCAR-XO2 FAQs
What is the OSCAR XO2 system?
The OSCAR-XO2 is a residential wastewater treatment system manufactured by Lowridge Onsite Technologies in Lake Stevens, WA. It meets the criteria for a Class I treatment unit under NSF/ANSI 40 protocol, producing high-quality treated effluent for on-site disposal.
How do I know my system is working properly?
Proper operation signs: no odor from the top of the aerator box, sand media supports grass with no visible sewage, discharge tank liquid is clear with a musty smell, pressure gauges 1 & 2 read ~50 psi with minimal differential, and gauge 3 reads 48–52 psi.
What does the alarm mean?
If the alarm sounds or the red beacon is illuminated, it indicates one of three problems: the discharge pump has failed, effluent is accumulating in the pump tank, or the blower has failed. Call your service provider immediately. Reference the data plate on the control panel door for contact information.
How often does the disc filter need to be cleaned?
If the pressure differential between gauges 1 and 2 in the headworks varies by 1–2 psi or more, the disc filter is plugging and must be manually cleaned. Your certified service technician handles this during routine inspections.
How often does the system need to be serviced?
Inspections begin 6 months after installation and occur every 6 months for the first two years (first 4 inspections are included in the purchase price). After the initial two years, annual inspections are required. An active O&M contract is required to maintain warranty coverage.
